Tobacco regulatory science at HHS seeks to scale back the morbidity and mortality from tobacco use, including by stopping kids and youth from ever starting to use tobacco. With the passage of the Affordable Care Act, HHS has been moving forward to implement the law and help improve the health of tens of millions of Americans. The law places in place complete reforms that shield Americans from the worst insurance coverage company abuses, makes health insurance extra affordable, provides better entry to care and coverage, and strengthens Medicare. By December 31, 2017, working with federal, state, native, tribal, and trade partners, improve preventive controls in meals manufacturing services and reduce the incidence fee of Listeria monocytogenes (L.m.) infections by 8%.
